12pm - 5pm
The food: Thought the food was free, but when we went there, they had a "ticket" system set up. Each ticket was 50 cents each, and ticket price varied on the food. Upon entrance, they gave us two tickets for free. Kakigori (shaved ice) was 1 ticket, takoyaki ("Japanese delicacy" I love how they don't say it's octopus and batter) was 2 tickets, onigiri (rice ball) was 3 tickets (overpriced imo, but they sold out by by the end of the festival along with everything else D:), some red bean dessert I forgot the name of was 4 tickets, a medium bowl of soy beans was 2 tickets, and yakisoba (fried noodles) was 3 tickets. I should've gotten more than one round of Yakisoba... it filled me up nicely. It was worth much more than the measly $5 I spent for all the food I tried at the festival.
The music: Traditional for the opening ceremony, L'arc~en~Ciel (Honey, w00t), Porno Graffitti (Agehachou, Leanne's hope came true oh joygasm~ I like this song too, tho), Bump of Chicken (One Piece's Sailing Day, MY hope came true oh joygasmmmm), Asian Kung-Fu Generation (Need your love... dunno why they picked one of the older ones... oh well D:), Orange Range (Fever!! They played it twice, lol. Wish they played something hot like Asterisk~ sdfff *joy*), BoA, Utada Hikaru, Morning Musume, DDR Music, a few others.. D: Recently, I burned a Bump of Chicken mp3 cd, so I was really hoping for some Sailing Day... and I got it~~~ <3 Good taste ;3
The events: Lots of martial arts and such... karate, ninjutsu, kendo. Hot stuff. JSA band played some stuff... not anything more than the Chinese association kids back at home do. A meal-eating contest and a Wanko soba eating contest... crazy but I had thought that anybody would be able to participate in them, so I had saved my stomach for them... Instead, the staff participated most of the time and we just got to judge them based on who entertained us the most.. waaa. Still fun, though. XD Yukata try-on... I wanted to take them home. Now I'm really starting to regret not dragging a camera around with me wherever I go like some people do. Puuuurty sleeves and ribbons and stuff. And I bet Serg would look nice in one with me, ohoho. D: There was some mini-game where there were a ton of bouncy balls in a kiddy pool, and you had to try to get one using a SUPER flimsy net... flimsy as in... if you breathed too harshly on it, it would break. Haha. I found a green-grape colored bouncy ball on the group later during the day and... kept it. They also had Tea Ceremony, but the "scheduled" demonstrations was too inconvenient for us, and there were too many other people who wanted to do it. Well, it wouldn't have been new to me, anyway... so give it to those who wanted to experience it more? ^_^;
The shopping: Some gal had a "
Dude I think something's wrong with my appetite... I had Yakisoba, 2 kakigori, and 4 pieces of takoyaki during the festival, a good deal of sushi at sushi.come, and my three bowls (rofl) of soy beans a few hours ago and I'm still starving. When I think about the actual amount of food I've eaten today, it's not that much compared to what I usually eat.... but hell, it's all so gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood. I should get soy beans more often... they're such a nice, healthy snack food, and they're yummy and fun to eat while watching stuff like GSD 22 and OUR Music featuring Gundam SEED~~~. Muohoho. XD
Leanne, Colin and Chris came over to my dorm room after dinner and we watched Napoleon Dynamite (they asked me why I have The Last Unicorn on my computer... weehehhehehh CChan~)... and couple eps of Damekko Doubutsu. x3~ *glomps them all*
